MANILA, Philippines — Talk ‘N Text mentor Chot Reyes knows well that it is going to be tough beating San Miguel Beer with a healthy lineup.
“For the first time in quite awhile, San Miguel is at full strength,” said Reyes, a former SMB mentor, on the eve of their 6:30 p.m. battle this Sunday night in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Astrodome in Pasay City.
Talk ‘N Text and San Miguel won their opening assignments against B-Meg Derby Ace (87-76) and Air21 (100-86), respectively.

MANILA—With the top three rookie picks in its roster, the Air21 Express try to show whether they now have the credentials to finally deliver the franchise’s first title in the Philippine Basketball Association.
Flaunting a hulking, youthful look, the Express debut in the season-opening Philippine Cup today against powerhouse San Miguel Beer.
But the Express’ excitement has been tempered by the news of top pick Nonoy Baclao’s impending absence in the 7:30 p.m. clash.

MANILA, Philippines – Alaska Milk and San Miguel Beer, the recent Fiesta Conference title protagonists, face separate rivals today, confident of another solid campaign with intact, formidable rosters in the 36th PBA season at the Araneta Coliseum today.
The Aces tangle with the Barako Bull Energy Boosters at 5 p.m. then the Beermen tackle the Air21 Express at 7:30 p.m.
It’s the third playdate of the new PBA season featuring the pro debut of high-profile rookies Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Nonoy Baclao, Rey Guevarra and Elmer Espiritu and the first game of Alaska in its 25th year of participation in the league.

MANILA, Philippines — Nonoy Baclao, Rabeh Al-Hussaini and Rey Guevarra – the top three picks in the Rookie Draft – make their much-awaited debut when Air21 battles powerhouse San Miguel Beer this Friday in the 36th PBA Season Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Express and the Beermen collide at 7:30 p.m., Fiesta Cup champion Alaska Aces and the Barako Bull Energy Boosters clash at 5 p.m.
The Express will parade the 6-foot-5 Baclao (No. 1 pick), the 6-foot-7 Al-Hussaini (No. 2 pick) and the 6-foot-3 Guevarra (No. 3 pick), and coach Yeng Guiao said he expects the three to make an impact right away.
